To help future generations of mechanical engineers achieve their dreams, he created an endowed scholarship that honors the memory of his late wife, Carol. During their 56 years together, the couple saw students struggle with financial barriers — experiences that continue to inspire Lew’s generosity and his desire to help meet society’s growing need for engineers. As part of a carefully considered estate plan, Lew named the OSU Foundation as a beneficiary of his IRA.
