From mid-May through Labor Day, Mobi-mats at four beach access points — including the D River State Recreation Site and the west end of Southwest 51st Street — provide stable, nonslip walkways across the sand for wheelchairs, strollers and beach wagons. Visitors can also borrow beach wheelchairs year-round at the west end of Southwest 51st Street, designed with balloon-style tires that glide smoothly over sand, rocks, and other uneven terrain at beaches around Siletz Bay and Taft Beach. DID YOU KNOW? Mobi-mats can also be found seasonally in a few other cities along the Coast, including Newport and Florence on the Central Coast. Mobi-mat at the 51st Street beach access
