62 HAWAII PARENT May/June 2025 SACRED HEART’S ACADEMY Sacred Hearts Academy, a Catholic private school for students in preschool through grade 12, has been providing an outstanding college-preparatory education for Hawaii’s girls for more than 100 years. Along with its academic program, the Academy focuses on character and values, mutual respect, and service. Students learn to value themselves as individuals, while also preparing to participate with confidence in a complex and changing society. The Academy offers a wide variety of extracurricular activities, including leadership clubs, athletic programs, and performing and visual arts, allowing students to pursue their interests and develop wellrounded skills. The offerings of the Academy’s educational experience begin on the preschool level with a dynamic academic program for three and four-year-olds. The preschool program aims to develop the whole child, addressing all levels of development – social, emotional, physical, spiritual, and cognitive. Since young children learn by doing, the Academy’s preschoolers are engaged in a variety of activities geared to their developmental levels. In the process, they are able to explore, work cooperatively, think critically, and problem-solve. In addition to the core subjects, students are immersed in developing skills with technology woven throughout the curriculum beginning in the preschool classrooms. Students are exposed to a wide array of coding, robotics, and engineering experiences. Believing in the need to develop well-rounded citizens, the Academy also maintains a vibrant Performing and Visual Arts program, allowing students to express themselves creatively through music, movement, drama, and art. The Academy fosters a supportive and nurturing environment where each student’s unique strengths and talents are recognized and celebrated. With a commitment to academic excellence and personal growth, Sacred Hearts Academy prepares students to thrive in a diverse and interconnected world.
