Sunriver Guide 2025

The Sunriver Area Chamber of Commerce welcomes everyone who has traveled from near and far to experience the wonders and magic of Sunriver. In order to have a safe and fun experience, guests are encouraged to understand the rules, for their own wellbeing as well as the community members who live here year-round. Here are a few tips to follow, each shared with the sincere intent every guest has a wonderful visit and makes visiting Sunriver a yearly tradition. MAKE YOUR RESERVATIONS EARLY • Tackle your vacation bucket list by making reservations before you arrive, especially for lodging, tee times, fishing guides, dinner reservations and visiting the observatory at the Sunriver Nature Center & Observatory. • Rent equipment before you need it and try to avoid making reservations the day you want to use it. Local shops have what you need for bike rides to ski equipment. DRIVING IN SUNRIVER • Please obey the 25-mph speed limit. • Be aware of pedestrians and bikers crossing the road. People dart across the road, often without looking. • Driving at sunrise and sunset can be a challenge, especially with the glare. • The local deer and their wildlife buddies have not learned how to use the crosswalks. Be on the lookout for wildlife meandering across the road. • Remember to signal when exiting a roundabout. PEDESTRIAN SAFETY Use paved paths when walking, biking and running. Do not do any of the activities on the roads. Stop at crosswalks, look both ways and then cross the road. Do not cross the road without stopping first. Use caution when walking on paved paths during the winter months, due to ice. FIRE SAFETY • Park your vehicle only on the driveway. Parking off the driveway or road can risk starting a fire. • Do not use fireworks in Sunriver. Repeat: Never use fireworks in Sunriver. • Do not use open flame fire pits. • Douse cigarettes and cigars in water. Never throw them away in natural areas or pathways. SOUND CARRIES • Quiet time starts at 10 p.m. and ends at 7 a.m. • Be considerate by remembering sound carries, and it’s possible to hear loud gatherings a few blocks away. ASK QUESTIONS • Contact the Sunriver Area Chamber of Commerce or Visit Central Oregon in The Village at Sunriver if you are seeking information about where to go and what to do. A FEW MORE THAT YOU ALREADY KNOW: • Treat your rental as your own home. • Be kind and considerate to the people who work in the restaurants, shops and recreational facilities. Treat employees with the same kindness you would want to be treated. Be Our Guest Photo by Kristine Thomas Living in Sunriver, Sunriver Style 2025-26 | SUNRIVER MAGAZINE 112
