Pebel Rodriguez is the founder and principal of Atelier Essex, a residential architecture studio based in Palo Alto focused on high- performance, sustainable design. Licensed in the State of New York, she began her career in New York City, working on highend residential and institutional projects where luxury and craft shaped her approach to architecture. For the last 10 years her work has centered on designing homes that are not only beautiful, but deeply efficient, resilient, and built to last. Atelier Essex specializes in Passive House projects, integrating energy performance and comfort from the very beginning. With over a decade of experience across the Bay Area and New York, Pebel holds credentials as a Certified Passive House Designer (CPHD) and is Living Future Accredited (LFA). She sits on the Board of Directors for the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Silicon Valley, chairs the Committee on the Environment (COTE), and serves on the Home Tours Committee, where she champions public engagement in sustainable residential design. Through Atelier Essex, Pebel continues to explore how architecture can respond to climate, context and the quiet rhythms of everyday life—with clarity, care, and lasting impact.
