ACalifornia native, Kurt Allen was born in Carmel and has long been inspired by the state’s vibrant intersection of innovation, education and community. Before entering higher education, he built a successful career in global banking and financial services, where he developed deep expertise in sales, marketing, client relations and brand development. This foundation continues to shape his approach to data-driven decision-making and impactful storytelling. Kurt is passionate about strengthening mission-driven institutions through strategic leadership in marketing and enrollment. As Vice President for Marketing and Communications at Notre Dame de Namur University, he brings a unique blend of private- and public-sector experience that informs his results-oriented approach to growth, branding and audience engagement. At NDNU, Kurt leads efforts to grow enrollment, enhance brand visibility, and foster inclusive engagement. His office—on the university’s historic Belmont campus in the heart of Silicon Valley—is a collaborative hub where creative strategy and measurable outcomes align. Whether connecting with prospective students or building strategic partnerships, Kurt remains focused on advancing the university’s mission. A lifelong advocate for access and equity, he enjoys mentoring young professionals, supporting local arts and education, and contributing to the vibrancy of the Bay Area community he proudly calls home.
