Older adults are often forced to choose between buying groceries, medications and other essentials. Many live alone, facing what the U.S. Surgeon General and San Mateo County have identified as an “epidemic of loneliness.” Meanwhile, the numbers of those with Alzheimer’s and dementia continue to rise, placing overwhelming emotional and financial burdens on families. These challenges will only grow as our population ages. PVI recognizes this urgent need. For nearly 80 years, our core programs have allowed seniors to age in place. Through Nutrition Services, PVI offers Meals on Wheels and weekly grocery support to ensure access to healthy meals. Adult Day Services at Rosener House provides compassionate Alzheimer’s and dementia care in an engaging environment. Quiescence offers customized family caregiver solutions. Our Senior Activity Center at Little House promotes wellness, lifelong learning, increases socialization and creates connections. Additionally, RIDE PVI offers safe, on-demand transportation so older adults can access services and remain engaged in their communities. As we prepare for what is ahead, PVI needs your help to continue our mission to “enable seniors to age in place.” Please donate today, and help keep our seniors safe, supported and thriving in the community they call home. .
